Loratadine falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Sweet Annie interacts with.

Sweet Annie may alter plasma levels and clinical effects of drugs metabolized by CYP3A4.
In vitro research shows that the Sweet Annie constituent artemisinin induces CYP3A4, possibly increasing CYP3A4 activity by 1.9-fold. However, Sweet Annie extract seems to inhibit the activity of CYP3A4 in vitro, suggesting that other constituents of Sweet Annie play a role in its effects on the overall activity of this enzyme. More information is needed to determine whether taking Sweet Annie extract affects the metabolism of CYP3A4 substrates.

Here's the deal with mixing Sweet Annie and Claritin (loratadine). Your body uses an enzyme called CYP3A4 to help break down loratadine, and Sweet Annie may tinker with that enzyme. The tricky part is that the research pulls in two directions: one compound in the herb (artemisinin) seems to speed the enzyme up, while the whole-plant extract seems to slow it down. So we honestly can't say for sure which way the scale tips.

The good news is this is gentle, low-stakes territory. Loratadine is a non-drowsy allergy medicine, so even if levels shifted a little, you'd most likely just notice your allergy relief working slightly less or more, not anything dangerous. This is based only on lab studies, not real people. Still, mention the supplement to your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.
