Oliceridine falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Thunder God Vine interacts with.

Theoretically, thunder god vine might increase the levels and clinical effects of CYP3A4 substrates.
In vitro research shows that triptolide, a constituent of thunder god vine, inhibits CYP3A4 enzymes in human microsomes. This interaction has not been reported in humans.

Here's the gist with Oliceridine (Olinvyk), which is a strong IV opioid used for short-term, acute pain in monitored settings. Your body relies on a liver enzyme called CYP3A4 to help break it down. Thunder God Vine contains a compound (triptolide) that, in lab dish studies, slowed this same enzyme. If that happened in a real person, Oliceridine could clear out more slowly and build up.

More opioid hanging around means stronger effects: deeper sedation, slowed breathing, low blood pressure, nausea, and constipation. I want to be honest though, this is a theoretical concern based only on test-tube data, never reported in people. Since Oliceridine is given by your care team, just make sure they know about any supplements you take so they can dose safely.

Olinvyk (oliceridine) injection is approved for adults to manage acute pain that is severe enough to require an intravenous opioid analgesic. It is used only when alternative treatments are ineffective, not tolerated, or otherwise unable to provide adequate pain control.

Because of serious risks including addiction, misuse, overdose, and death, Olinvyk is reserved for situations where other pain management options are not sufficient. It is not intended for routine or chronic pain management.
