Aripiprazole falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Thunder God Vine interacts with.

Theoretically, thunder god vine might increase the levels and clinical effects of CYP3A4 substrates.
In vitro research shows that triptolide, a constituent of thunder god vine, inhibits CYP3A4 enzymes in human microsomes. This interaction has not been reported in humans.

Here's the gist. Your body uses a liver enzyme called CYP3A4 to help clear aripiprazole (Abilify). Lab studies suggest a compound in Thunder God Vine called triptolide may slow that same enzyme down. If it did, more aripiprazole could linger in your system, which can nudge up its usual side effects like drowsiness, restlessness, dizziness, mild tremor, or feeling lightheaded when you stand.

I want to be honest about the strength of this, though. This is only a theoretical concern from test-tube work, and it hasn't actually been reported in people. Thunder God Vine also carries its own toxicity risks and really should only be used with a doctor watching closely. Please loop in your pharmacist or prescriber before combining the two, and don't change your aripiprazole on your own.
