Here's the thing to keep in mind with this pairing. Thunder God Vine, in larger or concentrated doses, can quiet down the immune system. Palivizumab (Synagis) works in almost the opposite way: it's a lab-made antibody that gives your child's immune system a little extra help fighting off RSV. So in theory, an immune-dampening herb could blunt the very protection you're trying to build.

I want to be honest about the evidence here (this is theoretical, based on how these things work, not on real cases). Still, Thunder God Vine isn't something I'd want a young, high-risk child around anyway, since it can be toxic if not prepared right. Please check with your child's pediatrician or pharmacist before combining anything with Synagis.

What Is Palivizumab Injection Used For?

Brand name: Synagis

Synagis (palivizumab) is used to prevent serious lower respiratory tract disease caused by RSV — not to treat an infection that has already started. It is given to high-risk babies and young children before and during RSV season.

Synagis is approved for infants born at 35 weeks gestation or earlier who are 6 months old or younger at the start of RSV season; children up to 24 months old with bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD, a chronic lung condition) who needed medical treatment in the past 6 months; and children up to 24 months old with hemodynamically significant congenital heart disease (a heart defect that affects blood flow).
