Tazemetostat Hydrobromide falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Thunder God Vine interacts with.

Theoretically, thunder god vine might increase the levels and clinical effects of CYP3A4 substrates.
In vitro research shows that triptolide, a constituent of thunder god vine, inhibits CYP3A4 enzymes in human microsomes. This interaction has not been reported in humans.

Here's the gist: your cancer medicine Tazverik (tazemetostat) is cleared from your body by a liver enzyme called CYP3A4. Thunder God Vine contains a compound called triptolide that, in lab dish studies, appears to slow that same enzyme down. If it does the same thing inside a person, your body might break tazemetostat down more slowly, letting levels climb a bit higher than expected. That could mean stronger side effects like fatigue, nausea, low blood counts, or a higher chance of infection.

I want to be honest about the evidence, though. This is only a theory based on test-tube work, and it has never actually been reported in real patients. Still, with a cancer drug I wouldn't take chances. Please loop in your oncologist or pharmacist before combining these.

What Is Tazemetostat Used For?

Brand name: Tazverik

Tazverik (tazemetostat) tablets are used to treat adults and patients aged 16 and older with metastatic or locally advanced epithelioid sarcoma (a rare soft-tissue cancer) that cannot be completely removed by surgery.

Tazverik is also used in adults with relapsed or refractory follicular lymphoma — meaning the lymphoma has come back or stopped responding to treatment — either when the tumor carries a specific EZH2 gene mutation (confirmed by an FDA-approved test) after at least two prior treatments, or when there are no other satisfactory treatment options. Both uses were approved based on response rates, and continued approval may depend on results from ongoing confirmatory studies.
