Here the concern runs the other way than you might expect. It is your thyroid extract that can be affected, not Selinexor. When you swallow another oral pill like Selinexor (Xpovio) at the same time, it can sit in your stomach and intestines alongside the thyroid hormone and slightly reduce how well that hormone is absorbed. Selinexor itself is not a prodrug, and this isn't expected to change how your cancer medicine works.

The practical fix is simple: keep your doses spaced apart. Thyroid hormone is best taken on an empty stomach, at least 30 to 60 minutes before other pills. This is a minor, well-documented timing issue, not a dangerous reaction. Still, since Selinexor is a serious cancer drug, please confirm your exact schedule with your oncology team or pharmacist.

About Selinexor

What Is Selinexor Used For?

Brand name: Xpovio

Xpovio (selinexor) is used to treat multiple myeloma in adults. When used together with bortezomib and dexamethasone, it is for adults who have had at least one prior treatment. This combination is sometimes called XVd.

Xpovio is also used with dexamethasone alone (called Xd) for adults with relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma — meaning the cancer came back or stopped responding — who have already tried at least four prior therapies and whose disease no longer responds to several other standard drug types.
