Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
CYTOCHROME P450 2D6 (CYP2D6) SUBSTRATES
Why this applies to Nebivolol
Nebivolol falls under CYTOCHROME P450 2D6 (CYP2D6) SUBSTRATES — the group Tinospora Cordifolia interacts with.
In vitro research shows that Tinospora cordifolia extract inhibits CYP2D6 at high concentrations. However, this interaction has not been reported in humans.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the short version: your body relies on a liver enzyme called CYP2D6 to clear nebivolol out of your system. In test-tube studies, Tinospora cordifolia (Giloy) appears to slow that enzyme down when used in high amounts. If that happened in real life, more nebivolol could linger in your blood, which might nudge its blood-pressure-lowering effect too far. That could mean a slower heart rate, lightheadedness, unusual tiredness, or dizziness when you stand up.
I want to be straight with you, though: this is only seen in lab dishes, not in actual people, so it's more of a theoretical concern than a proven one. Still, since nebivolol affects your heart and pressure, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor before adding Giloy.
