Here's the thing with tragacanth: it's a gummy fiber that swells into a thick gel in your stomach. When you take it close to an oral medicine like levorphanol, that gel could trap some of the drug and change how much your body absorbs. This is purely a theoretical concern based on how the fiber behaves, not something proven in studies, so I don't want you to lose sleep over it.

If absorption dipped, you might get less pain relief than expected. If it shifted the other way, you could feel more of the usual opioid effects like drowsiness, dizziness, or slowed breathing. To keep things steady, a simple fix is spacing them out: take your levorphanol first, then the tragacanth about 30 to 60 minutes later. Run it by your pharmacist or doctor to be safe.
