Phenoxybenzamine falls under ANTIHYPERTENSIVE DRUGS — the group Vitamin B6 interacts with.

Theoretically, vitamin B6 may have additive effects when used with antihypertensive drugs.
Research in hypertensive rats shows that vitamin B6 can decrease systolic blood pressure. Similarly, clinical research in patients with hypertension shows that taking high doses of vitamin B6 may reduce systolic and diastolic blood pressure, possibly by reducing plasma levels of epinephrine and norepinephrine.

Here's the gist: phenoxybenzamine already lowers blood pressure by blocking the receptors that adrenaline (epinephrine and norepinephrine) acts on. High-dose vitamin B6 may nudge blood pressure down too, partly by trimming those same adrenaline-type chemicals. Stack them together and the effects could add up, so you might feel more lightheaded, dizzy, or faint, especially when you stand up quickly. A fast or pounding heartbeat and stuffy nose are also common with this drug.

That said, this is mostly theoretical and based on animal and small human studies, so it isn't a sure thing. Everyday B6 from food won't be the issue, concentrated supplements are. Since this medication is used for a serious condition, please run any B6 supplement past your pharmacist or doctor first.

What Is Phenoxybenzamine Used For?

Brand name: Dibenzyline

Phenoxybenzamine hydrochloride capsules are used to treat pheochromocytoma — a rare tumor of the adrenal gland that releases large bursts of stress hormones, causing dangerous spikes in blood pressure and heavy sweating. The capsules help keep those episodes under control.

If the heart rate becomes too fast during treatment, a doctor may also prescribe a beta-blocker alongside phenoxybenzamine.
