If you take lacosamide (Vimpat, Motpoly XR) for seizures, start with the three major entries here: grapefruit, St. John's wort, and activated charcoal. Grapefruit can raise lacosamide levels, St. John's wort can lower them, and charcoal can block a dose from absorbing at all. With a seizure medicine, either direction matters, because too much brings more side effects and too little can open the door to a breakthrough seizure.
