What’s inside

Full disclosure
Ingredient Transparency · database check
Full

Every active ingredient lists its own amount on the label.

Why this rating?
  • The label discloses an exact amount for 2 of its 2 active ingredients.
  • No proprietary blends here — you can verify the dose of every single component.

Absolutely Full contains two active ingredients: Fiber and Glucomannan. Glucomannan is a soluble fiber derived from the konjac plant; it absorbs water and expands in your digestive tract to add bulk and promote regularity.

The product also contains inactive ingredients — gelatin capsule, rice flour, and magnesium stearate — which are the capsule shell and binding agents.

Evidence for Intended Use · database check
By FDA rules, dietary supplements can’t claim to treat, cure, or prevent disease — so labels speak in careful marketing language. We discern each product’s intended use from its name, label claims, and label statements, then grade the clinical evidence for that use. How these ratings are computed
Not established

The graded evidence we hold for these ingredients covers different conditions than the ones this product is marketed for, so there's no established rating for its stated use — see Glucomannan's own graded uses on its monograph.

Why this rating?
  • The label markets this product for: curb food cravings and feel full faster.
  • We looked for evidence on: Obesity, Metabolic syndrome, appetite suppression, weight management.
  • The closest evidence on file: Glucomannan is rated "Insufficient Reliable Evidence To Rate" for Obesity (Natural Medicines).
  • Also on file: Glucomannan is rated "Insufficient Reliable Evidence To Rate" for Metabolic syndrome.

Glucomannan has Possibly Effective evidence for constipation, diabetes, and high cholesterol (hyperlipidemia). It has Insufficient Reliable Evidence To Rate for high blood pressure.

The data on Fiber itself isn't on file with us, so we can't speak to how it contributes to the product's effects.

How safe is it?

Well-documented data
Safety Information · database check
Well characterized

Adverse-effect, pregnancy, and general safety data are on file for most of these ingredients.

Why this rating?
  • We hold adverse-effect (side-effect) data for 1 of the 1 matched ingredient.
  • Pregnancy & breastfeeding safety ratings cover 1 of 1.
  • General safety write-ups exist for 1 of 1.
  • Remember: this measures how much safety information exists. Thin data is not the same as being safe.

Glucomannan is generally well tolerated when you take it with plenty of water. The most common side effects are mild gastrointestinal — abdominal pain, bloating, constipation, diarrhea, gas, nausea, and vomiting, especially at doses over 3 grams daily.

A rare but serious risk is choking or blockage in your esophagus or gut, particularly if you swallow the powder dry or without enough liquid. There isn't enough reliable safety data to know whether glucomannan is safe during pregnancy, so talk with your doctor before using it if you're pregnant.

Little is known about safety while breastfeeding, so caution is advised — ask your pharmacist or doctor for personalized guidance.

Moderate identified

The most serious documented interaction for these ingredients is Moderate. Check your medications for a personalized result.

Why this rating?
  • 1 of the 1 matched ingredient can interact with medications — Glucomannan.
  • The most serious interaction on file is rated Moderate.
  • For scale: 2,023 individual medications appear in the full list. A big number alone doesn't make a product dangerous — what matters is whether YOUR medication is on it, so run yours through the interaction checker on this page.

If you take oral medications — especially diabetes drugs, blood pressure meds, or birth control — double-check them before adding this product. Glucomannan may reduce how much of these drugs your body absorbs, potentially making them less effective.

Separate your medication and this supplement by at least 2 hours if possible, and ask your pharmacist how to time them safely.

The bottom line

Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with no established evidence rating for its marketed use. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.

Absolutely Full may help with constipation, blood sugar, and cholesterol if glucomannan works for you — but it can interfere with how your body absorbs other oral medications. Before you start, check your exact prescriptions and over-the-counter drugs with the tool on this page.

Take it with plenty of water to avoid choking or blockage, and talk with your pharmacist if you're pregnant, breastfeeding, or have any digestive concerns.

Oral Drugs

Theoretically, glucomannan may decrease absorption of drugs taken orally.
Due to its viscosity and bulking effects, there is concern that glucomannan can decrease the absorption of oral drugs. A small clinical study in healthy volunteers shows that taking glyburide 2.5 mg plus glucomannan 3.9 grams with breakfast reduces plasma levels of glyburide when compared with breakfast and glyburide alone. In addition, animal research demonstrates this effect on amoxicillin, but shows increased absorption of metronidazole. This mouse model also demonstrates that metronidazole elimination is prolonged, but amoxicillin elimination is enhanced by 38%; glucomannan may also affect the distribution of some drugs. To avoid changes in absorption, take glucomannan 30-60 minutes after taking oral drugs.
