CBD Therapy contains 3 active ingredients: hemp extract, omega-3 fatty acids (DHA and related compounds), and hemp oil. The hemp extract and hemp oil are derived from the cannabis plant and provide phytocannabinoids and other plant compounds.
The omega-3 ingredient supplies docosahexaenoic acid, a fatty acid commonly sourced from fish oil. These are suspended in a liquid form for oral use.
The product also contains inactive ingredients—stalk hemp CO2 extracted oil and organic hemp seed oil—which serve as the base and delivery system for the active components.
Does it work?
Insufficient evidence
The evidence we hold shows insufficient reliable data to rate hemp extract or hemp oil for the conditions they're marketed toward—constipation, eczema, and familial high cholesterol. DHA (omega-3) is possibly effective for preterm labor prevention and possibly effective for high cholesterol, but it's rated possibly ineffective for cognitive function and ADHD.
This means for most of this product's active ingredients, we don't have strong clinical evidence that they work for their intended uses.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Hemp products are generally well tolerated in food amounts, but this is a concentrated liquid supplement, and the safety data for that form is limited. DHA is generally well tolerated at typical doses and is often used in prenatal vitamins.
Common minor side effects of DHA include belching, fishy aftertaste, loose stools, and nausea. Hemp products are generally well tolerated at larger doses too, but rare serious effects have been reported: anaphylaxis, heart rhythm problems (long QT syndrome, torsades de pointes), and in one case, hepatitis in a young child given very high doses.
Allergy to hemp seed protein is uncommon but documented and can be severe. For pregnancy: DHA is rated likely safe, though your doctor should guide the dose and source (choose purified, low-mercury versions).
DHA passes into breast milk and is generally considered acceptable during breastfeeding, but discuss it with your doctor. The product facts don't provide pregnancy or lactation data for hemp extract or hemp oil specifically—talk with your pharmacist or doctor before using either during pregnancy or while nursing.

Formula
MC4MS CBD Therapy is derived from scientifically bred industrial hemp plants with a high CBD content. It is a full spectrum cannabinoid extract, blended specifically for MS symptoms. The resultant oil is then added to an easy-to-use dropper bottle, containing 300 mg of CBD (cannabidiol).It is a wholesome extract and not an isolate. Hemp extract
Estrogens
Theoretically, hemp might interfere with hormone therapy due to its estrogenic effects.
In an ovariectomized animal model, a diet containing hemp seed 1%, 2%, or 10% resulted in normalized plasma levels of 17-beta-estradiol. The mechanism of action for this effect is unclear.
Ace Inhibitors (Aceis)
Theoretically, consuming hemp seed protein isolate with ACE inhibitors might have additive effects and increase the risk of hypotension.
Hemp seed protein hydrolysate has shown ACE inhibitor-like effects in a hypertensive animal model. However, hempseed oil consumption does not seem to reduce blood pressure in humans. Until more is known, monitor blood pressure and potassium levels.
Anticoagulant/Antiplatelet Drugs
Theoretically, hemp seed might increase the risk of bleeding when used concomitantly with anticoagulant/antiplatelet drugs.
In animal research, hemp seed at 5% of the diet inhibits platelet aggregation in vitro. However, in human research, taking hemp seed oil 2 grams daily for 12 weeks does not inhibit the aggregation of platelets in vitro.
Antihypertensive Drugs
Theoretically, hemp seed protein may have additive effects with antihypertensive drugs.
In a hypertensive animal model, hemp seed protein hydrolysate reduced systolic blood pressure by a mechanism possibly involving the inhibition of renin and angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) activities. However, there was no effect of hemp seed protein on blood pressure in normotensive animals. Furthermore, hempseed oil consumption does not seem to reduce blood pressure in humans.
Cytochrome P450 1A2 (Cyp1A2) Substrates
Theoretically, hemp might decrease the levels and clinical effects of CYP1A2 substrates.
In vitro research shows that hemp induces CYP1A2 enzymes.
Cytochrome P450 3A4 (Cyp3A4) Substrates
Theoretically, hemp might decrease the levels and clinical effects of CYP3A4 substrates.
In vitro research shows that hemp induces CYP3A4 enzymes.
Omega 3 & 6
Anticoagulant/Antiplatelet Drugs
Theoretically, DHA may increase the risk of bleeding if used with anticoagulant or antiplatelet drugs.
Although some clinical evidence suggests that DHA might reduce collagen-stimulated platelet aggregation and thromboxane release, most clinical evidence suggests that DHA alone does not affect blood clotting. However, theoretically, when given in combination with EPA as fish oil, concomitant use with anticoagulant or antiplatelet drugs (including aspirin) might increase risk of bleeding.
Antidiabetes Drugs
Theoretically, taking DHA with antidiabetes drugs might reduce the effects of these medications.
In people with type 2 diabetes, including those taking oral hypoglycemic medications, DHA seems to increase fasting blood glucose levels.
Antihypertensive Drugs
Theoretically, taking DHA with antihypertensive drugs might increase the risk of hypotension.
Fish oils containing DHA can lower blood pressure and might have additive effects in patients treated with antihypertensives; use with caution.
