HelloPharmacist Scorecard of CoQ-10 200 mg by Meijer
Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Full disclosure
This softgel contains 200 mg of coenzyme Q10 — that's your single active ingredient. CoQ-10 is a compound your body makes naturally and stores in your cells, where it plays a role in energy production and acts as an antioxidant.
The softgel capsule itself is filled with rice bran oil, gelatin, glycerin, soybean lecithin, purified water, and titanium dioxide to hold it together.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
CoQ-10 has the strongest evidence for treating coenzyme Q10 deficiency — that's rated likely effective. For fibromyalgia, migraine headaches, congestive heart failure, and diabetic nerve pain (neuropathy), the evidence is weaker but promising — those are rated possibly effective.
The research exists, but it's not as solid as we'd like it to be.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
CoQ-10 is generally well tolerated by most adults when you take it as directed. In clinical studies, no serious adverse effects have shown up.
The most common side effects are gastrointestinal — appetite suppression, diarrhea, stomach discomfort, heartburn, nausea, and vomiting — but these happen in less than 1% of people. Headache, dizziness, and insomnia have been reported less often.
If you're taking a dose above 100 mg daily, splitting it into smaller doses throughout the day may help reduce stomach upset. For pregnancy, there isn't enough reliable safety data, so it's best to avoid unless your doctor advises otherwise.
For breastfeeding, safety hasn't been well studied — talk with your doctor or pharmacist before using it.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Before you take this, check with your pharmacist if you're on warfarin (Coumadin) — a blood thinner — or alkylating chemotherapy drugs like cyclophosphamide. If you take blood pressure medication, mention it too.
No interactions are documented for the other medications in our data, but run your full list through the checker to be sure.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with some supporting evidence for its stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
CoQ-10 is a good fit if you're deficient in it or exploring it for migraine, heart failure, or nerve pain — but you'll want to flag it with us first if you take warfarin, chemotherapy, or blood pressure medication. Check your medications with the tool on this page before you start.

CoQ-10 200 mg by Meijer Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Meijer's CoQ-10 200 mg contains one active ingredient — coenzyme Q10 — that does interact with some medications.
The most serious concern is with warfarin (Coumadin), a blood thinner. CoQ-10 has a structure similar to vitamin K, which can make blood clot more easily.
There are four reported cases where CoQ-10 reduced warfarin's ability to prevent clots. If you take warfarin, you'll want to check with us before starting this.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
CoQ-10 may also interfere with certain chemotherapy drugs — specifically alkylating agents like cyclophosphamide used in cancer treatment. Because CoQ-10 is an antioxidant, it could theoretically shield cancer cells from the oxidative stress that these drugs rely on to work.
Additionally, CoQ-10 might lower your blood pressure on its own, so if you're already on blood pressure medication, there's a minor possibility of an additive effect.
Altogether, these interactions span 198 individual medications. Run your exact medications through the checker below before you start.

For each ingredient in CoQ-10 200 mg with known interactions, here are the types of medications it can affect. Open any type for the detail — or search your exact drug in the checker above.
Coenzyme Q-10
Alkylating Agents
Coenzyme Q10 has antioxidant effects. Theoretically, this may reduce the activity of chemotherapy drugs that generate free radicals.
Theoretically, antioxidants such as coenzyme Q10 might protect tumor cells from chemotherapeutic agents that work by inducing oxidative stress, such as alkylating agents (e.g., cyclophosphamide) and radiation therapy. The clinical importance of this interaction is unknown.
Warfarin (Coumadin)
Coenzyme Q10 is chemically similar to menaquinone and might have vitamin K-like procoagulant effects, which could decrease the effects of warfarin.
Concomitant use of coenzyme Q10 and warfarin might reduce the anticoagulant effects of warfarin. Four cases of decreased warfarin efficacy thought to be due to coenzyme Q10 have been reported. However, there is some preliminary clinical research that suggests coenzyme Q10 might not significantly decrease the effects of warfarin in patients who have a stable INR.
Antihypertensive Drugs
Theoretically, coenzyme Q10 might have additive effects with antihypertensive drugs.
Some clinical research shows that coenzyme Q10 can significantly lower blood pressure, although other studies have shown conflicting results.
