FloraMore Ingredients & Drug Interactions
by Renew Life
What is this page for?
First and foremost: checking FloraMore against your medications. The heart of this page is the interaction checker and the full interaction report — how this product’s ingredients may interact with prescription and over-the-counter medicines you may be taking.
Around that, we add a pharmacist’s high-level view of the product as a whole — what’s inside, the evidence for its stated use, how transparent the label is, and what safety data exists — so you can see the full picture in one place. It’s educational information from our licensed clinical databases and the clinical staff at HelloPharmacist — not medical advice — and we don’t sell or endorse products. Our editorial policy

HelloPharmacist Scorecard of FloraMore by Renew Life
Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Low disclosure
FloraMore contains 11 active ingredients centered on digestive and gut health support. The formula includes L-Glutamine, an amino acid; N-Acetyl D-Glucosamine, a compound that supports joint and digestive tissue; FOS (fructooligosaccharides), a prebiotic fiber; and a probiotic blend of 12 billion live cultures per serving.
That blend is made up of Lactobacillus acidophilus, Lactobacillus rhamnosus, Lactobacillus casei, Lactobacillus plantarum, and three Bifidobacterium species—longum, bifidum, and breve—all designed to support your intestinal flora. The capsule itself is made from vegetable material.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
The evidence for this product's ingredients is mixed. L-Glutamine is effective for sickle cell disease and possibly effective for HIV/AIDS-related wasting and recovery after surgery.
N-Acetyl D-Glucosamine is likely effective for osteoarthritis but has insufficient evidence for back pain, aging skin, and liver health. Among the probiotics, Lactobacillus acidophilus and Bifidobacterium bifidum are possibly effective for irritable bowel syndrome, and L. acidophilus is also possibly effective for antibiotic-associated diarrhea and bacterial vaginosis.
Most other probiotic strains in the formula have insufficient evidence to rate their effectiveness for the conditions studied. The evidence is strongest for the formula's use in gut health and IBS support, but weaker for other potential benefits.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
L-Glutamine is generally well tolerated in healthy adults, though people with kidney or liver disease should use it only under medical supervision. The most common side effects are gastrointestinal—belching, bloating, constipation, diarrhea, flatulence, and nausea—plus headache and musculoskeletal pain.
Rare cases of dizziness and mania have been reported in people with bipolar disorder taking high doses. N-Acetyl D-Glucosamine is generally well tolerated, with similar gastrointestinal side effects (bloating, constipation, diarrhea, nausea, heartburn, and cramps).
There is concern about allergic reactions in sensitive people; one Australian safety review found 72% of reported adverse events involved hypersensitivity reactions, ranging from mild itching and rashes to severe reactions including anaphylaxis. Cases of asthma exacerbation have also been reported.
Pregnancy safety data advise against use during pregnancy, and breastfeeding safety is not well studied—avoid unless your doctor advises otherwise. The probiotics (L. acidophilus, Bifidobacterium species) are generally well tolerated in healthy adults and children, with gastrointestinal side effects (bloating, flatulence, abdominal pain, diarrhea) being uncommon.
Rare cases of infection have been reported in critically ill or immunocompromised patients. L. acidophilus is possibly safe in pregnancy, but breastfeeding data are limited.
Meds to double-check
Major interaction found
Before taking FloraMore, double-check with your own doctor or pharmacist if you take warfarin or other blood thinners—N-Acetyl D-Glucosamine can significantly increase bleeding risk. Next, if you take antibiotics, separate them from this product (ask your pharmacist for the right timing), because the live probiotic cultures may be killed, reducing their benefit.
If you take cancer chemotherapy drugs like etoposide or doxorubicin, seizure medications, or diabetes drugs, confirm the fit with your healthcare provider, as glucosamine and glutamine carry documented interactions with each.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFormula with limited ingredient disclosure with some supporting evidence for its stated purpose. Major medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
FloraMore is a broad-spectrum digestive formula best suited for people looking to support gut health, IBS symptoms, or recovery from antibiotic use, particularly through its probiotic blend and L-Glutamine content. If you take warfarin, antibiotic medications, cancer chemotherapy, seizure medications, or diabetes drugs, talk with your own doctor or pharmacist before starting—the interactions are real and may require timing adjustments or monitoring.
People with kidney or liver disease, allergies to shellfish (glucosamine source), severe immune compromise, or those pregnant or breastfeeding should check with their healthcare provider first.

FloraMore by Renew Life Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
FloraMore by Renew Life contains several ingredients with documented interactions with medications.
The most serious concern is N-Acetyl D-Glucosamine, which can significantly increase the blood-thinning effects of warfarin (Coumadin) and raise the risk of bruising and bleeding—a Major severity interaction. Additionally, L-Glutamine, Lactobacillus acidophilus, Bifidobacterium longum, Bifidobacterium bifidum, and Bifidobacterium breve all carry Moderate interactions with antibiotic drugs; the live organisms in these probiotics may be killed by antibiotics, reducing their effectiveness.
Glucosamine also interacts with cancer chemotherapy drugs (topoisomerase II inhibitors like etoposide and doxorubicin) at Moderate severity, though this has not been seen in humans.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
Glucosamines minor interactions include a theoretical effect on blood sugar control with antidiabetes drugs and a possible reduction in pain relief when combined with acetaminophen (Tylenol). L-Glutamine carries a Moderate interaction with anticonvulsant medications—it metabolizes to glutamate, which might work against seizure control, though this hasn't been reported in people yet.
We could not check FOS, Lactobacillus rhamnosus, Lactobacillus casei, or Lactobacillus plantarum for interactions because we hold no data on these ingredients. Altogether, these interactions span 402 individual medications.
Before starting FloraMore, run your current medications through the interaction checker on this page and discuss the results with your own doctor or pharmacist.

Probiotic 12 Billion Blend
Antibiotic Drugs
Theoretically, taking Lactobacillus acidophilus with antibiotic drugs might decrease the effectiveness of L. acidophilus.
L. acidophilus preparations usually contain live and active organisms. Therefore, simultaneously taking antibiotics might kill a significant number of the organisms. Tell patients to separate administration of antibiotics and L. acidophilus preparations by at least two hours.
N-Acetyl D-Glucosamine
Warfarin (Coumadin)
Glucosamine might increase the anticoagulant effects of warfarin and increase the risk of bruising and bleeding.
In two individual case reports, glucosamine/chondroitin combinations were associated with a significant increase in international normalized ratio (INR) in patients previously stabilized on warfarin. In one case, the increase in INR occurred only after tripling the dose of a glucosamine/chondroitin supplement from 500 mg/400 mg daily to 1500/1200 mg daily. Additionally, 20 voluntary case reports to the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) have linked glucosamine plus chondroitin with increased INR, bruising, and bleeding in patients who were also taking warfarin. There have also been 20 additional case reports to the World Health Organization (WHO) that link glucosamine alone to increased INR in patients taking warfarin. The mechanism of this interaction is unclear. Glucosamine is a small component of heparin, but is not thought to have anticoagulant activity; however, animal research suggests that it might have antiplatelet activity.
Topoisomerase Ii Inhibitors
Theoretically glucosamine may induce resistance to topoisomerase II inhibitors.
In vitro research suggests that glucosamine might induce resistance to etoposide (VP16, VePesid) and doxorubicin (Adriamycin) by reducing inhibition of topoisomerase II, an enzyme required for DNA replication in tumor cells. This effect has not been reported in humans.
Acetaminophen (Tylenol, Others)
Acetaminophen might interfere with the activity of glucosamine sulfate by interacting with the sulfate portion.
Anecdotal reports suggest that adding glucosamine to an acetaminophen regimen might decrease pain control in patients with osteoarthritis. Some research suggests that the sulfate portion of glucosamine sulfate might contribute to its effect in osteoarthritis. Since acetaminophen metabolism requires sulfur and reduces serum sulfate concentrations, acetaminophen could theoretically interfere with the action of glucosamine sulfate. Conversely, the administration of sulfate could theoretically decrease the effectiveness of acetaminophen in sulfate-deficient people by increasing its clearance.
Antidiabetes Drugs
Despite initial concerns, it is unlikely that glucosamine will interfere with the effects of antidiabetes drugs.
In vitro and animal research has suggested that glucosamine might increase insulin resistance or decrease insulin production. This has raised concerns that taking glucosamine might worsen diabetes and decrease the effectiveness of diabetes drugs. However, clinical research suggests that glucosamine does not have adverse effects on blood glucose or glycated hemoglobin (HbA1C) in healthy, obese, or type 2 diabetes patients.
L-Glutamine
Anticonvulsants
Theoretically, glutamine might antagonize the effects of anticonvulsant medications.
Glutamine is metabolized to the excitatory neurotransmitter glutamate. Glutamate might have antagonistic effects with anticonvulsant drugs. However, this interaction has not yet been reported in humans.
