Probiotic 500 mg Ingredients & Drug Interactions
What is this page for?
First and foremost: checking Probiotic 500 mg against your medications. The heart of this page is the interaction checker and the full interaction report — how this product’s ingredients may interact with prescription and over-the-counter medicines you may be taking.
Around that, we add a pharmacist’s high-level view of the product as a whole — what’s inside, the evidence for its stated use, how transparent the label is, and what safety data exists — so you can see the full picture in one place. It’s educational information from our licensed clinical databases and the clinical staff at HelloPharmacist — not medical advice — and we don’t sell or endorse products. Our editorial policy

HelloPharmacist Scorecard of Probiotic 500 mg by 360 Nutrition
Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Low disclosure
360 Nutrition's Probiotic contains 14 active ingredients, most of them bacterial species commonly found in probiotic formulations: several Lactobacillus strains (plantarum, paracasei, rhamnosus, brevis, bulgaricus, salivarius, casei, and acidophilus DDS-1), four Bifidobacterium species (animalis lactis, longum, bifidum, and breve), Streptococcus thermophilus, and a proprietary probiotic blend. The inactive ingredients are vegetable cellulose, anhydrous dextrose, and sustainable non-GMO palm oil.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
The evidence we hold is incomplete for most conditions. Lactobacillus acidophilus DDS-1 and Bifidobacterium bifidum are rated possibly effective for irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), and Lactobacillus acidophilus is also rated possibly effective for Helicobacter pylori infection, antibiotic-associated diarrhea, and bacterial vaginosis.
For nearly all other conditions listed — hay fever, asthma, common cold, anxiety, cognitive decline, and many others — the evidence we hold is insufficient to rate these ingredients' effectiveness. Bifidobacterium breve is rated possibly ineffective for age-related cognitive decline and sepsis.
Because this is a multi-ingredient product and the evidence varies by ingredient and condition, there's no single answer: what matters is whether you're taking it for a specific health goal, and we'd recommend you discuss that with your doctor or pharmacist.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
The probiotics in this product are generally well tolerated in healthy people. However, caution is advised for anyone who is seriously ill, immune-compromised, or has a weakened immune system — in rare cases, live probiotic bacteria have caused bloodstream infections (bacteremia) or sepsis in critically ill patients, preterm infants, and those with central venous catheters or severe immunosuppression.
Gastrointestinal side effects such as bloating, flatulence, abdominal discomfort, and pain have been reported rarely. One case of a dry cough was reported in a clinical trial.
For pregnancy, Lactobacillus acidophilus DDS-1, Bifidobacterium bifidum, and Streptococcus thermophilus are rated possibly safe; data for other ingredients aren't on file. For breastfeeding, safety data are limited across the board — check with your doctor or pharmacist before use.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Before taking this product, check with your doctor or pharmacist if you're on antibiotic drugs — taking probiotics and antibiotics at the same time can reduce the probiotic's effectiveness. While no other medication interactions are documented for the ingredients we could check, several bacterial strains in this product we were unable to check for drug interactions.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFormula with limited ingredient disclosure with some supporting evidence behind its ingredients' uses. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
If you're looking for a multi-strain probiotic and you're in good health, this product is generally well tolerated. It may have some benefit for IBS, H. pylori, antibiotic-associated diarrhea, or bacterial vaginosis if you're taking it for those purposes — though the evidence isn't strong for all uses.
If you take antibiotics, separate them from this supplement by a few hours to avoid killing off the live organisms. Anyone with a compromised immune system, serious illness, or critical care status should check with their doctor or pharmacist before starting it.

Probiotic 500 mg by 360 Nutrition Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
360 Nutrition's Probiotic 500 mg contains several bacterial species that interact with antibiotic drugs.
Through its Bifidobacterium longum, Lactobacillus bulgaricus, Bifidobacterium bifidum, Bifidobacterium breve, and Lactobacillus acidophilus DDS-1 content, this product may decrease the effectiveness of the probiotics themselves when taken alongside antibiotics — a Moderate-severity concern because antibiotics can kill the live organisms in the supplement.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
These five checked ingredients all share the same interaction with antibiotic drugs. Since probiotic preparations contain live and active microorganisms, taking them at the same time as antibiotics might kill a significant number of those organisms and reduce the probiotic's intended benefit.
Altogether, these interactions span 182 individual medications.
Several ingredients in this product we could not check — Lactobacillus plantarum, Lactobacillus paracasei, Lactobacillus rhamnosus, Lactobacillus brevis, Lactobacillus salivarius, Lactobacillus casei, and Lactococcus lactis — because we hold no monograph data for them. Streptococcus thermophilus was checked and shows no documented interactions.
