What’s inside
Low disclosure
ProBioCare Probiotics 35 Billion Delayed Release contains 24 ingredients: live bacterial strains organized into four blends. The Lactobacillus Blend includes L. casei, L. plantarum, L. rhamnosus GG, L. acidophilus (two strains), L. paracasei, L. brevis, L. bulgaricus, L. salivarius, L. rhamnosus, and L. gasseri.
The Bifidobacterium Blend contains B. infantis, B. breve, B. bifidum (two strains), and B. longum. The Cocci Blend includes L. lactis, S. thermophilus, L. rhamnosus, and B. bifidum/lactis.
The capsule also contains inactive ingredients: potato maltodextrin, a vegetable capsule shell, and rice extract blend.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
The data shows some of these strains have possible effectiveness for specific uses. L. acidophilus (in two forms here) is possibly effective for irritable bowel syndrome, Helicobacter pylori infection, antibiotic-associated diarrhea, and bacterial vaginosis.
B. bifidum (both forms) is possibly effective for irritable bowel syndrome and respiratory tract infections. For many other uses—allergic rhinitis, asthma, common cold, and others—the evidence is currently insufficient to rate these strains.
Overall, while the blend may help with certain digestive and vaginal health issues, the data for most of the conditions tracked are not yet established.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
These probiotics are generally well tolerated in healthy adults and children. However, because they contain live and active organisms, there's a theoretical concern they could cause infection in certain patients—particularly those who are severely ill, immunocompromised, have central venous catheters, or are very young.
Gastrointestinal side effects like bloating, flatulence, abdominal discomfort, and diarrhea have been reported, though they're uncommon. Rare cases of rash and itching occurred in one clinical trial, though it's unclear whether the probiotics or another factor was responsible.
For pregnancy, L. acidophilus, B. bifidum, and S. thermophilus are rated possibly safe. Data on L. delbrueckii, L. gasseri, B. breve, and B. longum during pregnancy is insufficient—talk with your doctor or pharmacist for personalized guidance.
Lactation data are either limited or not on file for most of these strains; your healthcare provider can advise what's appropriate for you.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Before taking this product, double-check your antibiotic medications with your doctor or pharmacist. All the live bacterial strains we checked—L. acidophilus, L. delbrueckii, L. gasseri, B. breve, B. bifidum, and B. longum—can lose effectiveness if taken at the same time as antibiotics, so you may need to separate when you take them.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFormula with limited ingredient disclosure with some supporting evidence for its stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
This probiotic blend may be worth considering if you have irritable bowel syndrome, antibiotic-associated diarrhea, or bacterial vaginosis, since some of its strains show possible effectiveness for those. Be cautious if you're immunocompromised, critically ill, or have a central venous catheter—talk with your doctor first.
If you take antibiotics, check with your pharmacist about spacing them apart from this supplement. Before you start, confirm all your medications with your own doctor or pharmacist.

Probiotics 35 Billion Delayed Release by ProBioCare Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
