What’s inside
Full disclosure
This product contains one active ingredient: CoQ10 (coenzyme Q10), a compound your cells naturally produce to generate energy and protect against oxidative damage. The softgel capsule also contains inactive ingredients — rice bran oil, gelatin, glycerin, silica, and soy lecithin — which help deliver and stabilize the CoQ10.
Does it work?
Strong evidence
CoQ10 has solid evidence for treating CoQ10 deficiency itself. It's rated possibly effective for fibromyalgia, migraine headache, congestive heart failure, and diabetic neuropathy (nerve damage from diabetes).
For these conditions, the research shows promise but isn't definitive yet — talk with your doctor about whether it's right for your situation.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
CoQ10 is generally well tolerated by most adults. In clinical studies, no serious adverse effects have been reported.
The most common side effects are gastrointestinal — appetite suppression, diarrhea, stomach discomfort, heartburn, nausea, and vomiting — but these occur in fewer than 1% of people. Headache, dizziness, and insomnia have been reported rarely.
If you take a dose above 100 mg daily, dividing it may help reduce stomach upset. There isn't enough safety data on CoQ10 in pregnancy, so it's best to avoid it unless your doctor advises otherwise.
Safety during breastfeeding hasn't been well studied either; talk with your doctor before using it if you're nursing.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Before taking this, check with your pharmacist if you take warfarin or other blood thinners, chemotherapy drugs (especially alkylating agents like cyclophosphamide), or blood pressure medications. CoQ10 may reduce how well warfarin and certain cancer drugs work, and may add to the blood-pressure-lowering effect of antihypertensives.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with clinical evidence supporting its stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
CoQ10 may help with heart health, migraines, fibromyalgia, and diabetic nerve pain, and it's generally well tolerated. But if you take warfarin, chemotherapy drugs, or blood pressure medications, you'll need to check with your pharmacist first — this product can interfere with how those work.
Mention it to your doctor or pharmacist before you start.

Q-Sorb Co Q-10 30 mg by Puritan's Pride Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Q-Sorb Co Q-10 by Puritan's Pride does interact with several types of medications.
The most serious concern is with chemotherapy drugs called alkylating agents (such as cyclophosphamide). CoQ10 is an antioxidant, and theoretically it may shield tumor cells from the oxidative stress that these drugs rely on to work, potentially reducing their effectiveness.
This is a Moderate-severity interaction.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
CoQ10 also interacts with warfarin (Coumadin), a blood thinner (anticoagulant). Because CoQ10 is chemically similar to vitamin K, it may have blood-clotting effects that work against warfarin.
Four cases of reduced warfarin effectiveness linked to CoQ10 have been reported — this is also Moderate severity. Additionally, CoQ10 may have additive blood-pressure-lowering effects when taken with antihypertensive drugs (blood pressure medications); this is Minor severity.
Additionally, all other drug interactions documented for these ingredients carry Minor severity or lower. Altogether, these interactions span 196 individual medications.

Q-Sorb
Alkylating Agents
Coenzyme Q10 has antioxidant effects. Theoretically, this may reduce the activity of chemotherapy drugs that generate free radicals.
Theoretically, antioxidants such as coenzyme Q10 might protect tumor cells from chemotherapeutic agents that work by inducing oxidative stress, such as alkylating agents (e.g., cyclophosphamide) and radiation therapy. The clinical importance of this interaction is unknown.
Warfarin (Coumadin)
Coenzyme Q10 is chemically similar to menaquinone and might have vitamin K-like procoagulant effects, which could decrease the effects of warfarin.
Concomitant use of coenzyme Q10 and warfarin might reduce the anticoagulant effects of warfarin. Four cases of decreased warfarin efficacy thought to be due to coenzyme Q10 have been reported. However, there is some preliminary clinical research that suggests coenzyme Q10 might not significantly decrease the effects of warfarin in patients who have a stable INR.
Antihypertensive Drugs
Theoretically, coenzyme Q10 might have additive effects with antihypertensive drugs.
Some clinical research shows that coenzyme Q10 can significantly lower blood pressure, although other studies have shown conflicting results.
