Sacro-B contains a single active ingredient: Saccharomyces boulardii CNCM I-3799, a live beneficial yeast. The capsule also contains inactive ingredients — hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, pectin, water, beet fiber, calcium laurate, and medium chain triglycerides — which are fillers and binders that help deliver the yeast.

Saccharomyces boulardii is possibly effective for several types of diarrhea: rotaviral diarrhea, travelers' diarrhea, and diarrhea that develops after taking antibiotics. It's also possibly effective for necrotizing enterocolitis (a serious intestinal condition in premature infants), Clostridioides difficile infection (a severe infection that can follow antibiotic use), and Helicobacter pylori (a bacteria linked to stomach ulcers).
The evidence supporting these uses is not conclusive, but there is enough to suggest it may help.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Saccharomyces boulardii is generally well tolerated in healthy adults. However, the safety data advises against it if you're critically ill or immunocompromised (have a weakened immune system), since rare cases of the yeast entering the bloodstream (fungemia) have been reported in hospitalized and immunocompromised patients — especially those with central catheters or on broad-spectrum antibiotics.
In rare cases, oral use has caused gastrointestinal complaints such as abdominal cramps, flatulence, nausea, vomiting, and decreased appetite. There isn't enough data on file to know either way whether it's safe in pregnancy or breastfeeding — talk with your doctor or pharmacist for personalized advice.
