What is this page for?
First and foremost: checking Superior LiveBac Process against your medications. The heart of this page is the interaction checker and the full interaction report — how this product’s ingredients may interact with prescription and over-the-counter medicines you may be taking.
Around that, we add a pharmacist’s high-level view of the product as a whole — what’s inside, the evidence for its stated use, how transparent the label is, and what safety data exists — so you can see the full picture in one place. It’s educational information from our licensed clinical databases and the clinical staff at HelloPharmacist — not medical advice — and we don’t sell or endorse products. Our editorial policy

Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Full disclosure
Superior LiveBac Process is a 4-ingredient probiotic blend delivering 1 billion viable organisms per dose. The active ingredients are Bifidobacterium bifidum, Lactobacillus acidophilus, Streptococcus thermophilus, and Lactobacillus helveticus—all live, beneficial bacteria meant to support your gut health.
The tablet also contains inactive ingredients including maltodextrin, microcrystalline cellulose, croscarmellose sodium, stearic acid, ascorbyl palmitate, and turmeric root, which serve as binders, fillers, and stabilizers.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
The evidence for this product's ingredients is mixed. Bifidobacterium bifidum and Lactobacillus acidophilus are both rated Possibly Effective for irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).
L. acidophilus also shows Possibly Effective evidence for helping with antibiotic-associated diarrhea, Helicobacter pylori infection, and bacterial vaginosis. For Streptococcus thermophilus and Lactobacillus helveticus, the data we hold shows Insufficient Reliable Evidence to rate them for the conditions studied—meaning the research isn't yet established enough to say whether they work.
If you're considering this product for a specific condition, check with your pharmacist about what the evidence supports.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
These probiotics are generally well tolerated in healthy people. The most commonly reported side effects are bloating and flatulence, though these haven't been specifically documented with Bifidobacterium bifidum alone.
A small number of trial participants have reported mild gastrointestinal discomfort, abdominal pain, or burping when taking probiotics in combination. Very rare cases of infection (bacteremia or sepsis) have been reported, but these occurred almost entirely in critically ill patients, people with weakened immune systems, or those with central lines—not in otherwise healthy people.
If you have a compromised immune system or are seriously ill, talk with your doctor before starting this product.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
If you take antibiotics, space them several hours away from this product—the antibiotics may reduce how well the probiotics work by killing the live organisms. Altogether, these interactions span 182 individual medications.
Use the medication checker below to verify your exact prescriptions before starting.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with some supporting evidence for its stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
This probiotic blend may help with IBS and antibiotic-associated diarrhea based on the evidence for some of its ingredients. The main thing to watch is timing if you're on antibiotics—space them apart from this product so the antibiotics don't kill the live organisms.
People with healthy immune systems tolerate it well. Check with your pharmacist if you're on any medications, especially antibiotics, before you start.

As the graph demonstrates, tablets with Superior LiveBac(R) Process are still stable after 260 days while standard L. acidophilus capsules shown no viable colonies. The result is 1 BIllion CFUs of L. acidophilus in a Livebac(R) tablet is equivalent to 5 to 10 CFUs of standard L. acidophilus over time. The amount of the active colonies at the time of manufacturing is not as important as the stability of organisms over time.

HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Superior LiveBac Process by Olympian Labs contains four live probiotic organisms, and the most serious documented interaction is with antibiotic drugs.

Bifidobacterium bifidum
Antibiotic Drugs
Theoretically, taking Bifidobacterium. bifidum with antibiotic drugs might decrease the effectiveness of B. bifidum.
Since B. bifidum preparations usually contain live and active organisms, simultaneously taking antibiotics might kill a significant number of the organisms. Tell patients to separate administration of antibiotics and B. bifidum preparations by at least 2 hours.
Lactobacillus acidophilus
Antibiotic Drugs
Theoretically, taking Lactobacillus acidophilus with antibiotic drugs might decrease the effectiveness of L. acidophilus.
L. acidophilus preparations usually contain live and active organisms. Therefore, simultaneously taking antibiotics might kill a significant number of the organisms. Tell patients to separate administration of antibiotics and L. acidophilus preparations by at least two hours.

Antibiotic Drugs
Theoretically, taking Lactobacillus helveticus with antibiotic drugs might decrease the effectiveness of L. helveticus.
Lactobacillus helveticus preparations usually contain live and active organisms. Therefore, simultaneously taking antibiotics might kill a significant number of the organisms. Tell patients to separate administration of antibiotics and L. helveticus preparations by at least two hours.
