Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Full disclosure
This product contains one active ingredient: coenzyme Q10 at 200 mg per capsule. CoQ10 is a compound your body produces naturally and uses in cells to generate energy.
The capsule itself is made from vegetable cellulose, and the remaining inactive ingredients—microcrystalline cellulose, vegetable magnesium stearate, and silica—are fillers and flow agents that help form and deliver the capsule.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
CoQ10 is likely effective for treating coenzyme Q10 deficiency. For other conditions—fibromyalgia, migraine headaches, heart failure, and diabetic nerve pain—the evidence rates as possibly effective, meaning some clinical research supports benefit, but more study is needed.
The data we hold doesn't establish effectiveness for other uses.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
CoQ10 is generally well tolerated in adults when used as directed. The most common side effects are gastrointestinal—appetite suppression, diarrhea, heartburn, nausea, and vomiting—but these occur in less than 1% of people, and dividing doses above 100 mg daily may help.
Headache, dizziness, and insomnia have been reported in clinical studies, though rarely. Skin itching and rash have also been uncommon.
There isn't enough safety data during pregnancy, so the facts advise against use unless your doctor advises otherwise. Safety while breastfeeding hasn't been well studied either—talk with your doctor or pharmacist for personalized guidance if you're nursing.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Before you take this, double-check with your pharmacist if you're on warfarin (blood thinner)—CoQ10 may reduce how well it works. Also flag it if you're getting chemotherapy, especially alkylating agents, or taking blood pressure medication.
The medication search tool on this page will help you verify your exact drugs.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with some supporting evidence for its stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
CoQ10 works well for people with an actual deficiency and may help with migraines, heart failure, or fibromyalgia. If you take warfarin, chemotherapy, or blood pressure medications, you need to check with your pharmacist first.

Vegan CoQ-10 200 mg by Solgar Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Solgar's Vegan CoQ-10 200 mg contains one active ingredient, coenzyme Q10, which does interact with some medications.
The most serious concern is with warfarin (Coumadin), a blood thinner. CoQ10 is structurally similar to vitamin K and may reduce warfarin's ability to prevent blood clots—four cases of decreased warfarin effectiveness have been reported.
If you take warfarin, you'll want to flag this with your pharmacist before starting.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
CoQ10 may also interfere with certain chemotherapy drugs, particularly alkylating agents like cyclophosphamide. Because CoQ10 is an antioxidant, it could theoretically protect cancer cells from the oxidative stress that makes some chemo drugs work.
This is a Moderate-severity concern if you're undergoing cancer treatment.
There's also a Minor interaction with blood pressure medications. Some research shows CoQ10 can lower blood pressure on its own, so combining it with antihypertensive drugs could add up and drop your pressure too far—though study results have been mixed.
Altogether, these interactions span 196 individual medications. Use the medication checker below to search your exact drugs before you start.

For each ingredient in Vegan CoQ-10 200 mg with known interactions, here are the types of medications it can affect. Open any type for the detail — or search your exact drug in the checker above.
Coenzyme Q-10
Alkylating Agents
Coenzyme Q10 has antioxidant effects. Theoretically, this may reduce the activity of chemotherapy drugs that generate free radicals.
Theoretically, antioxidants such as coenzyme Q10 might protect tumor cells from chemotherapeutic agents that work by inducing oxidative stress, such as alkylating agents (e.g., cyclophosphamide) and radiation therapy. The clinical importance of this interaction is unknown.
Warfarin (Coumadin)
Coenzyme Q10 is chemically similar to menaquinone and might have vitamin K-like procoagulant effects, which could decrease the effects of warfarin.
Concomitant use of coenzyme Q10 and warfarin might reduce the anticoagulant effects of warfarin. Four cases of decreased warfarin efficacy thought to be due to coenzyme Q10 have been reported. However, there is some preliminary clinical research that suggests coenzyme Q10 might not significantly decrease the effects of warfarin in patients who have a stable INR.
Antihypertensive Drugs
Theoretically, coenzyme Q10 might have additive effects with antihypertensive drugs.
Some clinical research shows that coenzyme Q10 can significantly lower blood pressure, although other studies have shown conflicting results.
