Vitamin B+ contains 4 active ingredients. Thiamine and two forms of vitamin B6 — pyridoxine hydrochloride and pyridoxal 5-phosphate — are B vitamins your body needs for energy, nerve function, and metabolism.
ActivFulvic is fulvic acid, a compound derived from organic matter that's promoted for general wellness, though evidence for its effects is limited. The product also contains inactive ingredients: rice bran, hypromellose (a capsule material), and rice.
Does it work?
Strong evidence
Thiamine is effective for thiamine deficiency and Wernicke-Korsakoff syndrome (a serious condition caused by severe thiamine lack). It's possibly effective for dysmenorrhea (period pain) but possibly ineffective as a mosquito repellent or for heart failure.
Vitamin B6 (both forms) is effective for sideroblastic anemia, B6 deficiency, and pyridoxine-dependent epilepsy, and likely effective for high homocysteine (hyperhomocysteinemia). It's possibly effective for pregnancy-related nausea and vomiting.
Fulvic acid's effectiveness is not established in our data — the evidence is insufficient for respiratory infections, lead toxicity, eczema, fatigue, and hay fever.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Thiamine is generally very safe at normal doses and is needed in pregnancy and while breastfeeding; use only as your provider advises. Vitamin B6 is well tolerated at doses under 100 mg daily, but high doses over time can harm your nerves (cause sensory neuropathy), especially at 1,000 mg daily or higher.
Common side effects at any dose include headache, nausea, and stomach pain. During pregnancy, B6 is likely safe, though one rating flags possibly unsafe — talk to your provider.
It's likely safe while breastfeeding. Fulvic acid appears well tolerated in the short term, but human safety data is limited.
It may cause diarrhea, headache, or sore throat. It should be avoided in pregnancy and while breastfeeding — there isn't enough information to know it's safe.

Thiamine interacts with one antibiotic. Trimethoprim (Proloprim) may increase thiamine blood levels by inhibiting how your body moves thiamine around — this is rated Minor and unlikely to cause harm at typical supplement doses.
Both forms of vitamin B6 in this product — pyridoxine hydrochloride and pyridoxal 5-phosphate — affect the same drug categories. Blood pressure medications (antihypertensives) may have stronger effects when combined with high-dose B6.
Amiodarone (Cordarone), a heart rhythm drug, might cause worse sun sensitivity. Seizure medications phenobarbital (Luminal) and phenytoin (Dilantin) may become less effective at high B6 doses.
Levodopa (for Parkinson's) can lose potency if taken alone with B6, though this doesn't happen if you're also on carbidopa (Sinemet). These are all Moderate or Minor severity.
ActivFulvic (fulvic acid) interacts with blood thinners (anticoagulants) and antiplatelet drugs — it may reduce their effectiveness (Moderate). It also theoretically interferes with immunosuppressants and thyroid hormone therapy (Moderate for each).

ActivFulvic
Anticoagulant/Antiplatelet Drugs
Theoretically, taking fulvic acid may decrease the effectiveness of anticoagulant and antiplatelet drugs.
In vitro evidence shows that fulvic acid, formed from the oxidation and polymerization of protocatechuic acid, can shorten prothrombin time in human plasma, increasing the risk of clot formation.
Immunosuppressants
Theoretically, taking fulvic acid might decrease the effects of immunosuppressive therapy.
Animal research shows that fulvic acid stimulates immune function.
Thyroid Hormone
Theoretically, taking fulvic acid with thyroid hormone therapy might interfere with the ability to normalize thyroid function.
Animal research shows that fulvic acid increases the plasma level of thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) and decreases the thyroxine (T4):triiodothyronine (T3) ratio.
Vitamin B6 Proprietary Blend
Amiodarone (Cordarone)
Theoretically, vitamin B6 might increase the photosensitivity caused by amiodarone.
Despite initial case reports suggesting that pyridoxine may have a protective effect against amiodarone-induced photosensitivity, preliminary clinical research suggests that pyridoxine may actually exacerbate this adverse effect.
Antihypertensive Drugs
Theoretically, vitamin B6 may have additive effects when used with antihypertensive drugs.
Research in hypertensive rats shows that vitamin B6 can decrease systolic blood pressure. Similarly, clinical research in patients with hypertension shows that taking high doses of vitamin B6 may reduce systolic and diastolic blood pressure, possibly by reducing plasma levels of epinephrine and norepinephrine.
Phenobarbital (Luminal)
High doses of vitamin B6 may reduce the levels and clinical effects of phenobarbital.
Preliminary clinical evidence suggests that vitamin B6 200 mg daily can reduce plasma levels of phenobarbital, possibly by increasing metabolism. It is not known whether lower doses have any effect. Advise people taking phenobarbital to avoid high doses of vitamin B6.
Phenytoin (Dilantin)
High doses of vitamin B6 may reduce the levels and clinical effects of phenytoin.
Preliminary clinical evidence suggests that vitamin B6 200 mg daily can reduce plasma levels of phenytoin, possibly by increasing metabolism. It is not known whether lower doses have any effect. Advise people taking phenytoin to avoid high doses of vitamin B6.
Levodopa
Vitamin B6 may increase the metabolism of levodopa when taken alone, but not when taken in conjunction with carbidopa.
Vitamin B6 (pyridoxine) enhances the metabolism of levodopa, reducing its clinical effects. However, this interaction does not occur when carbidopa is used concurrently with levodopa (Sinemet). Therefore, it is not likely to be a problem in most people.
Thiamine
Trimethoprim (Proloprim)
Trimethoprim might increase blood levels of thiamine.
In vitro, animal, and clinical research suggest that trimethoprim inhibits intestinal thiamine transporter ThTR-2, hepatic transporter OCT1, and renal transporters OCT2, MATE1, and MATE2, resulting in paradoxically increased thiamine plasma concentrations.
