What’s inside
Full disclosure
This product contains one active ingredient: white mulberry leaf extract in powder form. There are no inactive ingredients listed.
Does it work?
Not established
The evidence for white mulberry extract isn't established in the data we hold. The product has been studied for androgenic alopecia (hair loss), osteoporosis, common cold, diabetes, and high cholesterol, but each of these conditions has insufficient reliable evidence to rate its effectiveness.
While lab and animal research suggest white mulberry leaf may lower blood glucose, we don't have strong clinical evidence for any of these uses in humans.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
White mulberry leaf powder is generally well tolerated as a food, but concentrated supplements are less studied and may lower blood sugar. The most common side effects reported in a clinical trial were bloating and flatulence (affecting about half of participants), loose stools (about 25%), and constipation (about 21%) — though these tended to ease over time.
Avoid medicinal amounts during pregnancy and breastfeeding; there isn't enough safety data to know either way, so talk with your doctor or pharmacist for personalized advice.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Before starting this product, double-check with your pharmacist if you take antidiabetes drugs (like metformin, glipizide, or insulin) or any Organic Cation Transporter 2 substrate medications. Both carry a Moderate interaction risk with white mulberry leaf.

White Mulberry Leaf Extract, Powder
Antidiabetes Drugs
Theoretically, white mulberry leaf might increase the risk of hypoglycemia when taken with antidiabetes drugs.
Clinical research shows that white mulberry leaf can lower blood glucose levels. Advise patients to monitor glucose levels closely.
Organic Cation Transporter 2 (Oct2) Substrates
Theoretically, white mulberry leaf might slow the elimination and increase the adverse effects of drugs which are OCT2 substrates.
Animal research shows that coadministration of white mulberry leaf extract with metformin, an OCT2 substrate, slows the renal elimination of metformin via inhibition of OCT2 activity. OCT2 is expressed in the kidneys and is responsible for transporting cationic drugs into tubular epithelial cells in order to be excreted in the urine.
