Why this applies to Aspirin, Omeprazole

Aspirin, Omeprazole falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Aegeline interacts with.

Aegeline inhibits cytochrome P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) activity in vitro. So far, this interaction has not been reported in humans. Theoretically, aegeline may increase levels of drugs metabolized by CYP3A4. Some drugs metabolized by CYP3A4 include lovastatin (Mevacor), ketoconazole (Nizoral), itraconazole (Sporanox), fexofenadine (Allegra), triazolam (Halcion), and numerous others. Use aegeline cautiously or avoid in patients taking these drugs.

Here's the honest picture with Yosprala (aspirin and omeprazole) and aegeline. The concern on file is that aegeline may block an enzyme called CYP3A4, which could let drugs that rely on it build up a bit. But this is based only on lab (test tube) data, not real people, so it's a theoretical worry rated as minor.

On top of that, neither aspirin nor omeprazole leans heavily on CYP3A4 (omeprazole is handled mostly by other enzymes), so a big shift here is unlikely. My bigger concern is aegeline itself, which has been linked to serious liver injury and was pulled from products by U.S. regulators. I'd steer clear of it and talk with your pharmacist or doctor first.

Aegeline is a compound originally identified in the bael tree (Aegle marmelos) that gained attention because it was added to some weight-loss and workout supplements. There is no good evidence it safely helps with weight loss, and it should generally be avoided.
