Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES
Why this applies to Caffeine (prescription drug)
Caffeine (prescription drug) falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Aegeline interacts with.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the honest picture with aegeline and caffeine. The concern on file is that aegeline may block an enzyme called CYP3A4, which could let drugs it clears build up a bit. But caffeine isn't really a CYP3A4 drug. Your body clears caffeine mostly through a different enzyme, CYP1A2, so this particular interaction doesn't map neatly onto caffeine.
On top of that, the evidence here is very weak, just lab (test tube) data, with nothing seen in real people. So I wouldn't expect jitteriness, a racing heart, or trouble sleeping from this combo specifically. My bigger worry is aegeline itself, since it's been tied to serious liver injury and U.S. regulators warned against it. Please talk with your pharmacist or doctor before using anything containing aegeline.

About Aegeline
What is Aegeline?
- Weight loss
- Fat burning / metabolism support
- Sports and bodybuilding supplements
- General 'energy' products
Aegeline is a compound originally identified in the bael tree (Aegle marmelos) that gained attention because it was added to some weight-loss and workout supplements. It is best known for being linked to serious liver injury in a product called OxyELITE Pro, and U.S. regulators warned against products containing it. There is no good evidence it safely helps with weight loss, and it should generally be avoided.
About Caffeine
What Is Caffeine Used For?
Brand names: Dextrophin, Caffeine
Caffeine citrate injection and oral solution are used for the short-term treatment of apnea of prematurity. This means pauses in breathing in premature infants. The label lists the age range as infants between 28 weeks and a later gestational age, and that range is cut off in the text provided.
Over-the-counter caffeine tablets, such as Diurex and the Stay Awake products, are taken by mouth by adults and older children. Their labels point to fatigue and drowsiness. Diurex directions also mention taking it while symptoms persist.
