Erythromycin Gluceptate falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Atractylodes interacts with.

Theoretically, atractylodes might increase the levels of CYP3A4 substrates.
In animals, atractylodes administered at high doses has been shown to inhibit CYP3A1 activity, which is a homolog to the human CYP3A4 enzyme. This effect has not been shown in humans.

Here's the gist for erythromycin (the gluceptate form is the IV version): your body clears erythromycin partly through a liver enzyme called CYP3A4. The thinking is that atractylodes might slow that enzyme down a bit, which could let erythromycin levels creep up. Erythromycin is already known for stomach upset, nausea, cramping, and, less often, effects on heart rhythm (a longer QT interval), so higher levels could nudge those side effects.

That said, please don't lose sleep over this one. The only signal comes from animal and lab studies using high doses, and it has never been shown in people. The rating on file is minor. Still, since erythromycin can affect heart rhythm, it's worth a quick mention to your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.
