Penicillin V falls under ANTIBIOTIC DRUGS — the group Bacillus Subtilis interacts with.

Theoretically, taking Bacillus subtilis with antibiotic drugs might decrease the effectiveness of B. subtilis.
Since B. subtilis preparations usually contain live and active organisms, simultaneously taking antibiotics might kill a significant number of the organisms. Tell patients to separate administration of antibiotics and B. subtilis preparations by at least 2 hours.

Here's the thing to keep in mind: Penicillin V is an antibiotic, and Bacillus subtilis is a live probiotic. They don't really change how your body handles each other. Instead, the concern runs in one direction. Because penicillin kills bacteria, taking it at the same time as your probiotic can wipe out many of those live organisms before they ever get a chance to work. That means you'd lose much of the benefit you were hoping for from the supplement.

The good news is your penicillin still works just fine to clear your infection, and this is a theoretical concern based on how the two behave, not something widely proven. A simple fix is to space them out by at least 2 hours. If you're unsure, just ask your pharmacist to help you time the doses.
