Sulfamethazole falls under ANTIBIOTIC DRUGS — the group Bacillus Subtilis interacts with.

Theoretically, taking Bacillus subtilis with antibiotic drugs might decrease the effectiveness of B. subtilis.
Since B. subtilis preparations usually contain live and active organisms, simultaneously taking antibiotics might kill a significant number of the organisms. Tell patients to separate administration of antibiotics and B. subtilis preparations by at least 2 hours.

Here's the thing to keep in mind: this interaction works against the probiotic, not against your antibiotic. Sulfamethazole (Proklar) is a sulfa antibiotic, and its job is to kill or stop bacteria. Bacillus subtilis is a live, beneficial bacterium. So if you swallow them at the same time, the antibiotic can wipe out a good chunk of those probiotic organisms before they ever get to work.

Your Sulfamethazole will still do its job just fine, and you won't get extra side effects from this. The simple fix is timing. Most pharmacists suggest spacing the probiotic and the antibiotic by at least 2 hours. This is a theoretical concern based on how the two work, so it's nothing to worry over, just check with your pharmacist on the best schedule.
