simvastatin/ezetimibe falls under ORGANIC ANION-TRANSPORTING POLYPEPTIDE SUBSTRATES (OATP) — the group Banaba interacts with.

Theoretically, concomitant use of banaba with substrates of OATP might reduce the bioavailability of the OATP substrate.
In vitro research shows that banaba inhibits OATP, particularly OATP2B1. OATPs are expressed in the small intestine and liver and are responsible for the absorption of drugs and other compounds.

Here's the gist with Vytorin (simvastatin plus ezetimibe) and banaba. Both of these medicines rely partly on gut transporters called OATPs to get absorbed and to reach the liver, where they do their cholesterol-lowering work. Lab studies hint that banaba may block one of these transporters (OATP2B1). In theory, that could mean a little less of the drug gets where it needs to go, which might make it work a bit weaker on your cholesterol.

I want to be upfront: this is based only on test-tube research, not real people, so it's quite uncertain and may not matter at normal supplement doses. Still, since banaba can also nudge blood sugar, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.
