Irinotecan Hydrochloride falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Beta-methylphenethylamine (bmpea) interacts with.

Theoretically, BMPEA might increase the levels and clinical effects of CYP3A4 substrates.
In vitro research shows that BMPEA inhibits CYP3A4 by up to 37%.

Here's the gist for irinotecan (Onivyde). Your liver uses an enzyme called CYP3A4 to help process this chemo drug. BMPEA, a stimulant found in some weight-loss and sports products, has been shown in lab dish studies to slow that enzyme down by a little over a third. In theory, that could let more irinotecan build up in your system, which might mean worse side effects like severe diarrhea, nausea, low blood counts, and fatigue.

I want to be honest though: this is a theoretical concern based on test-tube data, not real patient studies. Still, since irinotecan is powerful chemo and BMPEA carries its own heart-related risks, I'd steer clear of it. Please loop in your oncology team before adding any supplement.
