Aminoglutethimide falls under CNS DEPRESSANTS — the group Bitter Almond interacts with.

Theoretically, bitter almond oil may have additive effects with other CNS depressants.
Bitter almond and its oil contain amygdalin, which is hydrolyzed to toxic hydrocyanic acid. This can cause CNS depression and respiratory failure.

Here's the basic idea. Aminoglutethimide (Cytadren) can slow down your central nervous system, which sometimes leaves people feeling drowsy, dizzy, or sluggish. Bitter almond is a real concern on its own because it releases cyanide in the body, and one effect of that toxicity is depressing the nervous system and breathing. Put the two together and, in theory, those slowing effects could stack up.

I want to be honest about the evidence: this is a theoretical caution based on how these substances work, not on solid studies. Frankly, the bigger issue is that bitter almond is genuinely poisonous and shouldn't be taken internally at all. If you want almond benefits, stick with ordinary sweet almonds, and check with your pharmacist or doctor before combining anything with Cytadren.
