Black Psyllium + Lovastatin
Lovastatin brand names: Mevacor, Altocor.
Black Psyllium has a minor interaction with Lovastatin. Theoretically, psyllium might increase, decrease, or have no effect on the absorption of oral drugs.

Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
ORAL DRUGS
Why this applies to Lovastatin
Lovastatin falls under ORAL DRUGS — the group Black Psyllium interacts with.
Psyllium seems to have variable effects on drug absorption. To avoid changes in absorption, take psyllium 30-60 minutes after oral medications. Animal research shows that blond psyllium delays and increases the absorption of metformin and ethinyl estradiol. Case reports and animal research suggest that blond psyllium might reduce absorption of lithium, digoxin, olanzapine, and carbamazepine. Finally, some pharmacokinetic studies show that psyllium does not affect the absorption of levothyroxine or warfarin. Although many of these studies evaluated blond psyllium, the fiber content in black psyllium may have similar effects.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the simple version: black psyllium is a soluble fiber that forms a thick gel when it hits water in your gut. That gel can sometimes grab onto medications taken around the same time and change how much gets absorbed. With lovastatin, the worry is that the fiber could trap a little of the drug and slightly reduce how much your body takes in, which in theory could make it a touch less effective at lowering your cholesterol.
The good news is this concern is mostly theoretical and rated minor, with no strong evidence showing a real problem for lovastatin specifically. An easy fix is spacing them out: take your lovastatin first, then your psyllium about 30 to 60 minutes later. Always run your routine by your pharmacist or doctor before starting.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Lovastatin page
“Lovastatin (Mevacor) lowers cholesterol, and the liver clears it through an enzyme called CYP3A4, which is where most of these 184 supplements collide with it. This list deserves careful attention.”

About Lovastatin
What Is Lovastatin Used For?
Brand names: Mevacor, Altocor
Lovastatin is used to lower high LDL ("bad") cholesterol and total cholesterol in people whose levels have not improved enough with diet alone. It is also used to slow the buildup of plaque in the arteries (coronary atherosclerosis) in people who already have coronary heart disease.
In adults without existing heart disease but with high cholesterol and low HDL ("good") cholesterol, lovastatin tablets are approved to reduce the risk of heart attack, unstable angina, and the need for procedures to open blocked arteries. Lovastatin tablets are also approved for adolescents aged 10–17 with a specific inherited condition called heterozygous familial hypercholesterolemia (heFH), when diet changes alone haven't been enough.

Lovastatin Is Linked to Lower Levels of One Nutrient
Natural Medicines records Lovastatin as a medicine that can lower these. This is not an interaction with Black Psyllium — it is a separate effect of the medicine, and it is a reason some people are advised to supplement rather than to avoid one:
