Evidence from in vitro research suggests that boxwood extract can inhibit acetylcholinesterase activity. Theoretically, concurrent use of anticholinergic drugs and boxwood might decrease the effectiveness of boxwood or the anticholinergic agent.

Here's the gist with Chlormezanone (Trancopal), an older muscle relaxant and anti-anxiety medicine that has some mild anticholinergic activity, meaning it can dampen a body chemical called acetylcholine. Lab studies hint that boxwood extract works in the opposite direction, blocking the enzyme that breaks acetylcholine down so more of it sticks around. In theory, the two could partly cancel each other out, and either one might work a little less than expected.

I want to be straight with you though: this is based only on test-tube research, not on people, so it's more of a maybe than a proven problem. Boxwood itself carries real toxicity concerns, so please loop in your pharmacist or doctor before pairing it with anything.
