Olmesartan Medoxomil falls under ANTIHYPERTENSIVE DRUGS — the group Bridelia interacts with.

Animal research suggests that Bridelia extracts decrease arterial pressure. Theoretically, concomitant use of Bridelia with antihypertensive drugs might have additive blood pressure lowering effects.
Some antihypertensive drugs include nifedipine (Adalat, Procardia), verapamil (Calan, Isoptin, Verelan), diltiazem (Cardizem), isradipine (DynaCirc), felodipine (Plendil), amlodipine (Norvasc), and others.

Here's the simple version: Bridelia may gently lower blood pressure on its own, at least based on animal studies. Olmesartan (Benicar) already lowers your blood pressure by relaxing your blood vessels. So if you take both together, the worry is that their effects could stack up and push your numbers down a bit too far.

If that happened, you might feel dizzy or lightheaded, especially when standing up quickly, along with tiredness or even a faint feeling. I want to be honest though: this concern is theoretical and comes from lab and animal work, not real human studies, so it may not amount to much. Still, please loop in your pharmacist or doctor before adding Bridelia, and keep an eye on your readings if you do.

What Is Olmesartan Used For?

Brand names: Olmesartan Medoxomil, Benicar

Olmesartan — sold as Benicar and under the generic names olmesartan medoxomil and olmesartan medoxomil-hydrochlorothiazide — is used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) in adults and in children six years of age and older. It can be used alone or combined with other blood pressure medicines.

Lowering high blood pressure with olmesartan reduces the risk of serious cardiovascular events, primarily stroke and heart attack. Managing blood pressure is most effective as part of a broader plan that may include diet, exercise, and other therapies your doctor recommends.
