Methyldopa falls under ANTIHYPERTENSIVE DRUGS — the group Bridelia interacts with.

Animal research suggests that Bridelia extracts decrease arterial pressure. Theoretically, concomitant use of Bridelia with antihypertensive drugs might have additive blood pressure lowering effects.
Some antihypertensive drugs include nifedipine (Adalat, Procardia), verapamil (Calan, Isoptin, Verelan), diltiazem (Cardizem), isradipine (DynaCirc), felodipine (Plendil), amlodipine (Norvasc), and others.

Here's the simple version: methyldopa already works to bring your blood pressure down. In animal studies, Bridelia also appears to lower blood pressure on its own. So if you put the two together, the worry is that they could stack up and push your numbers lower than intended.

If that happened, you might feel dizzy or lightheaded, especially when standing up quickly, along with fatigue or feeling a bit washed out, effects methyldopa can already cause. I'll be honest, this concern is theoretical and based mostly on animal research, not solid human studies, so it may not amount to much. Still, since both can affect blood pressure, please check with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them, and keep an eye on your readings if you do.
