Benazepril falls under ANTIHYPERTENSIVE DRUGS — the group Bridelia interacts with.

Animal research suggests that Bridelia extracts decrease arterial pressure. Theoretically, concomitant use of Bridelia with antihypertensive drugs might have additive blood pressure lowering effects.
Some antihypertensive drugs include nifedipine (Adalat, Procardia), verapamil (Calan, Isoptin, Verelan), diltiazem (Cardizem), isradipine (DynaCirc), felodipine (Plendil), amlodipine (Norvasc), and others.

Here's the gist: Benazepril (Lotensin) lowers your blood pressure, and animal studies hint that Bridelia may nudge blood pressure down too. Put them together and those effects could stack up, possibly dropping your pressure lower than you want.

If that happens, you might feel dizzy or lightheaded, especially when standing up, unusually tired, or even faint. I'll be honest with you though: this concern is theoretical, based on lab and animal work, not real human studies, so we don't truly know how big a deal it is in people. I wouldn't panic. Just don't start Bridelia on your own. Check in with your pharmacist or doctor first, and if you do use both, keep an eye on your blood pressure and how you feel.

Benazepril — sold as Lotensin and under its generic names Benazepril and Benazepril Hydrochloride — is approved to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). Lowering blood pressure reduces the risk of serious events like stroke and heart attack.

It can be used on its own or combined with a thiazide diuretic (water pill) when blood pressure needs more control. Because high blood pressure management is part of overall heart health, your doctor may also address cholesterol, blood sugar, and lifestyle factors alongside this medication.
