Here's the simple version. In animal studies, an extract of Bridelia ferruginea acted a little like an estrogen itself, though much weaker than a strong synthetic estrogen. The thinking is that if you take Bridelia alongside your esterified estrogens (Menest, Estratab), the plant's mild estrogen-like activity could theoretically add a bit on top of your prescribed hormones.

If that happened, you might notice more of the usual estrogen effects, like breast tenderness, bloating, nausea, or breakthrough spotting. I want to be honest, though: this is based only on lab and animal work, not on people, so it's more of a caution than a proven problem. Food or tea amounts are unlikely to matter much. Before starting a concentrated Bridelia supplement, just run it by your pharmacist or doctor.
