Zanubrutinib falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Bulbine Natalensis interacts with.

Theoretically, Bulbine natalensis stem might reduce the levels and clinical effects of CYP3A4 substrates.
In vitro research shows that Bulbine natalensis stem extract induces CYP3A4 mRNA expression and enzyme activity. Theoretically, this may increase the metabolism of CYP3A4 substrates, but this has not been studied in humans.

Here's the concern with pairing this supplement and Brukinsa (zanubrutinib). Your body relies on a liver enzyme called CYP3A4 to process zanubrutinib, and lab studies suggest Bulbine natalensis may speed that enzyme up. If that happens in people, your body could clear the cancer medicine faster, leaving less of it in your blood. The worry isn't more side effects, it's that the drug may not work as well as it should against your lymphoma or leukemia.

I want to be honest about the evidence here: this is only seen in test-tube research, never in humans, so it's theoretical. Still, with a cancer treatment, even a possible drop in effectiveness matters. Please don't change anything on your own. Talk with your oncologist or pharmacist before adding this supplement.

Here's the gist for Brukinsa (zanubrutinib). This cancer medicine is moved around your body partly by a transporter pump called P-glycoprotein. Lab-dish research suggests Bulbine natalensis might nudge up the activity of that pump. If it does, the pump could push more zanubrutinib out, which in theory might lower your drug levels and make it work less well against your lymphoma or leukemia.

I want to be honest about the evidence here: this is purely test-tube data, and the study didn't even confirm the pump actually changed. So this is theoretical, not proven. Still, because zanubrutinib is treating a serious cancer, I wouldn't gamble with it. Please run any Bulbine natalensis product past your oncologist or pharmacist before starting it.

What Is Zanubrutinib Used For?

Brand name: Brukinsa

Brukinsa (zanubrutinib) is used to treat adults with several types of blood cancers. These include chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL), small lymphocytic lymphoma (SLL), Waldenström's macroglobulinemia (WM), mantle cell lymphoma (MCL) after at least one prior treatment, relapsed or refractory marginal zone lymphoma (MZL) after at least one prior anti-CD20 treatment, and relapsed or refractory follicular lymphoma (FL) — the last in combination with another medicine called obinutuzumab, after two or more prior treatments.

Some of these uses (MCL, MZL, and FL) have received accelerated FDA approval based on response rates, meaning they may be subject to further confirmation of long-term benefit in ongoing trials.
