Abrocitinib falls under CYTOCHROME P450 2C9 (CYP2C9) SUBSTRATES — the group Cannabinol (cbn) interacts with.

Theoretically, cannabinol might increase the levels and clinical effects of CYP2C9 substrates.
In vitro research shows that cannabinol potently inhibits CYP2C9 enzymes. So far, this interaction has not been reported in humans.

Here's the gist for your eczema medicine, abrocitinib (Cibinqo). Your body partly clears this drug using a liver enzyme called CYP2C9. In test-tube studies, CBN appears to block that same enzyme. If it does the same in people, abrocitinib could clear more slowly and build up, which may turn up its effects and side effects, things like nausea, headache, acne, or a higher chance of infections since this drug calms the immune system.

I want to be honest about the strength of this, though. So far this is only lab data, not something seen in actual patients, so it's more of a theoretical caution than a proven problem. Since CBN products vary a lot in quality, please run it by your pharmacist or doctor before combining the two.

What Is Abrocitinib Used For?

Brand name: Cibinqo

Cibinqo (abrocitinib) is approved to treat adults and adolescents aged 12 and older who have moderate-to-severe atopic dermatitis (a chronic form of eczema) that has not been adequately controlled with other systemic treatments, including biologic medications, or when those treatments are not appropriate.

It is considered a refractory treatment option — meaning it is used when the disease has been difficult to control with other available therapies. Cibinqo is not recommended to be used alongside other JAK inhibitors, biologic immunomodulators, or other immunosuppressants.
