Cannabinol (cbn) and Acetaminophen, Aspirin, Caffeine

Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.

Moderate

CYTOCHROME P450 2E1 (CYP2E1) SUBSTRATES

Why this applies to Acetaminophen, Aspirin, Caffeine

Acetaminophen, Aspirin, Caffeine falls under CYTOCHROME P450 2E1 (CYP2E1) SUBSTRATES — the group Cannabinol (cbn) interacts with.

Theoretically, cannabinol might increase the levels and clinical effects of CYP2E1 substrates.
In vitro research shows that cannabinol potently inhibits CYP2E1 enzymes. So far, this interaction has not been reported in humans.
Severity Moderate Likelihood Possible Evidence D

Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.

Dr. Brian Staiger explains PharmD, Clinical Pharmacist

Here's the piece worth knowing with this combo product (Excedrin and similar). One of its ingredients, acetaminophen, is partly handled by a liver enzyme called CYP2E1. In lab studies (test tube, not people), CBN appears to slow that enzyme down. In theory, that could let a little more acetaminophen linger, and acetaminophen at high amounts is hard on the liver.

I want to be honest about how soft this evidence is: it's theoretical and hasn't been seen in real patients. For occasional, label-dose use it's likely a non-issue. Still, if you take this regularly, drink alcohol, or have liver concerns, it's smart to run your CBN plan by your pharmacist or doctor first.
