Why this applies to Nateglinide

Nateglinide falls under CYTOCHROME P450 2C9 (CYP2C9) SUBSTRATES — the group Cannabinol (cbn) interacts with.

Theoretically, cannabinol might increase the levels and clinical effects of CYP2C9 substrates.
In vitro research shows that cannabinol potently inhibits CYP2C9 enzymes. So far, this interaction has not been reported in humans.

Here's the simple version: your body relies on a liver enzyme called CYP2C9 to clear nateglinide out of your system. In lab studies, CBN appears to block that enzyme. If that same effect happened in people, nateglinide could hang around longer and hit a little harder than expected.

Since nateglinide works by prompting your pancreas to release insulin at mealtimes, a stronger effect could push your blood sugar too low. Watch for shakiness, sweating, dizziness, sudden hunger, or feeling confused. To be clear, this is only a theoretical concern from test-tube research and hasn't been seen in real patients yet. Still, if you'd like to try CBN, check with your pharmacist or doctor first, and keep an eye on your sugar readings.

Nateglinide tablets are used to help improve blood sugar (glucose) control in adults with type 2 diabetes. It is always used together with diet and exercise — not as a replacement for them.

Nateglinide is not for type 1 diabetes, and it is not used to treat diabetic ketoacidosis (a serious complication where the blood becomes dangerously acidic).
