Sofosbuvir, Velpatasvir falls under CYTOCHROME P450 2B6 (CYP2B6) SUBSTRATES — the group Cannabinol (cbn) interacts with.

Theoretically, cannabinol might increase the levels and clinical effects of CYP2B6 substrates.
In vitro research shows that cannabinol potently inhibits CYP2B6 enzymes. So far, this interaction has not been reported in humans.

Here's the honest picture with Epclusa (sofosbuvir and velpatasvir) and CBN. The concern on file is theoretical and comes only from lab dish studies, where CBN blocked an enzyme called CYP2B6. In test tubes that kind of blocking could let a drug build up a bit. The catch is that sofosbuvir and velpatasvir are not mainly handled by CYP2B6, so this particular pathway isn't a big player for Epclusa. No real cases of this happening in people have been reported.

Practically speaking, I wouldn't lose sleep over this specific enzyme issue. The bigger reasons to check first are CBN's unknown quality and its general drowsiness, plus making sure nothing throws off your hepatitis C treatment. Please run any CBN product past your pharmacist or doctor before adding it.

What Is Sofosbuvir and Velpatasvir Used For?

Brand name: Epclusa

Sofosbuvir and velpatasvir treats chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection caused by genotypes 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6 — covering all the major strains. It is approved for adults and children 3 years of age and older, whether or not they have cirrhosis (liver scarring).

It is used on its own in patients without cirrhosis or with compensated cirrhosis (where the liver is scarred but still functioning). In patients with decompensated cirrhosis (more advanced liver disease where the liver is no longer coping), it is used in combination with another medicine called ribavirin. Epclusa is a brand that is also available as oral pellets for younger children.
