Esomeprazole, Naproxen falls under NONSTEROIDAL ANTI-INFLAMMATORY DRUGS (NSAIDs) — the group Caprylic Acid interacts with.

Theoretically, caprylic acid might increase plasma concentrations of NSAIDs.
In vitro research suggests that caprylic acid might displace NSAIDs from binding sites on albumin. This effect has not been reported in humans.

Vimovo combines naproxen (an anti-inflammatory pain reliever) with esomeprazole (a stomach-acid blocker that protects your gut). The piece of this interaction that matters is the naproxen part. Naproxen rides through your blood mostly stuck to a protein called albumin, and only the small free portion is active. The idea here is that caprylic acid might bump some naproxen off albumin, leaving a little more of it floating free for a while.

In theory, that could nudge up naproxen's effects, including stomach upset, heartburn, or a higher risk of stomach irritation or bleeding. But this is purely lab-based and has never actually been seen in people. Food and coconut oil amounts almost certainly don't matter. Before starting concentrated caprylic acid capsules, just run it by your pharmacist or doctor.
