Danazol falls under PHOTOSENSITIZING DRUGS — the group Chlorophyll interacts with.

Theoretically, concomitant use of chlorophyll with photosensitizing drugs may have additive effects.
Chlorophyll has been reported to cause photosensitization. In two case reports, pseudoporphyria developed after oral intake of chlorophyll. Theoretically, concomitant use with other photosensitizing drugs may exacerbate this effect.

Here's the simple version: this isn't about how your body processes Danazol. Instead, it's about your skin and sunlight. Danazol can make some people more sensitive to the sun, and chlorophyll has occasionally been linked to the same kind of light sensitivity (a few reports even described a sunburn-like skin reaction called pseudoporphyria). Put them together and the concern is that the two could add up, leaving your skin quicker to burn or react.

Keep in mind this is mostly theoretical, based on a couple of case reports, not strong proof. Still, it's easy to play it safe: use sunscreen, cover up, and limit long sun exposure or tanning beds. If you notice unusual redness, blistering, or a rash, check in with your pharmacist or doctor before changing anything.

What Is Danazol Used For?

Brand names: Cyclomen, Danocrine

Danazol capsules are used to treat endometriosis — a condition where tissue similar to the uterine lining grows outside the uterus, causing pain and sometimes infertility. It works by suppressing the hormonal cycle that drives this abnormal tissue growth.

Danazol capsules are also used to prevent attacks of hereditary angioedema — a genetic condition that causes episodes of severe swelling in the skin, abdomen, face, and airway. All types of attacks (cutaneous, abdominal, and laryngeal) can be prevented with danazol.
