Evidence from in vitro research suggests that coriandrin, a constituent of cilantro, has photosensitizing effects. Theoretically, concomitant use with photosensitizing drugs might increase photosensitivity. Some drugs that cause photosensitivity include amitriptyline (Elavil), quinolones (Ciprofloxacin, others), sulfa drugs (Septra, Bactrim, others), and tetracycline.

Here's the gist with this combo (the antihistamine and decongestant blend in Nolamine paired with cilantro): there's a lab-only signal that a compound in cilantro called coriandrin may make your skin a touch more sensitive to sunlight. Some medicines can do the same thing, so the worry is simply that the two together might make you sunburn a little faster than usual.

I want to be honest about how thin this evidence is. It's theoretical, based on test-tube work, not real patient reports, and the cilantro you eat in salsa or on tacos is very unlikely to matter at all. Even concentrated supplements only carry a small, uncertain risk here. Just wear sunscreen and a hat on bright days, and check with your pharmacist if you have questions.
