Doxepin falls under PHOTOSENSITIZING DRUGS — the group Cilantro interacts with.

Evidence from in vitro research suggests that coriandrin, a constituent of cilantro, has photosensitizing effects. Theoretically, concomitant use with photosensitizing drugs might increase photosensitivity. Some drugs that cause photosensitivity include amitriptyline (Elavil), quinolones (Ciprofloxacin, others), sulfa drugs (Septra, Bactrim, others), and tetracycline.

Here's the gist of this one: doxepin can make your skin more sensitive to sunlight, meaning you may sunburn faster or break out in a rash from sun exposure. Cilantro contains a compound called coriandrin that, in lab studies, also appears to react with light on the skin. So in theory, pairing the two could add up to slightly more sun sensitivity.

I'll be honest, this is a theoretical concern based on test-tube research, not real patient reports, so I wouldn't lose sleep over it. The cilantro you sprinkle on tacos almost certainly won't matter. Concentrated cilantro supplements or essential oils are the bigger question mark. Either way, good sun habits (sunscreen, hat, shade) cover you. Check with your pharmacist or doctor before adding any concentrated cilantro product.
