Bromfenac Sodium falls under ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS — the group Cilantro interacts with.

In vitro research suggests that extracts of cilantro can inhibit platelet aggregation. Theoretically, cilantro might increase the risk of bleeding when used concomitantly with anticoagulant/antiplatelet drugs. Some of these drugs include aspirin, clopidogrel (Plavix), nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) such as diclofenac (Voltaren, Cataflam, others), ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin, others), naproxen (Anaprox, Naprosyn, others), dalteparin (Fragmin), enoxaparin (Lovenox), heparin, warfarin (Coumadin), and others.

Here's something worth knowing if you're using Bromfenac (Prolensa or Bromsite) eye drops after cataract surgery. Bromfenac is an NSAID, and these medicines can mildly affect how your platelets stick together. In lab studies, cilantro extracts showed a similar effect on platelets, so on paper, pairing the two might slightly nudge up bleeding risk.

That said, I want to keep this in perspective. This is a theoretical concern based on test-tube research, not real patient reports. On top of that, bromfenac is applied right to the eye, so very little gets into your bloodstream. Everyday cilantro in your cooking is very unlikely to matter. If you're using concentrated cilantro supplements or essential oil, just mention it to your pharmacist or eye doctor to be safe.
