Here's the thing about Reglan (metoclopramide): one of its known side effects is making you feel drowsy or foggy, since it can act on the brain. Cnidium, in lab and animal studies, has shown calming and sleep-promoting effects, likely from its natural coumarin compounds like osthole. So the worry is that stacking the two could leave you more sedated than you'd expect, with extra tiredness, slowed reactions, or trouble concentrating.

I want to be honest about the evidence here, though. This caution comes only from test-tube and animal research, not from people, so it's theoretical. Metoclopramide isn't a prodrug, so this is about overlapping sedation, not changing how the drug is processed. Still, if you ever feel unusually groggy or plan to drive, check in with your pharmacist or doctor first.

Cnidium is the dried fruit of an Asian plant long used in traditional Chinese medicine, mostly for skin problems and sexual health. Modern human evidence for these uses is very limited, with most research coming from laboratory and animal studies. About Metoclopramide

What Is Metoclopramide Used For?

Brand names: Reglan, Metoclopramide Injection, Octamide

Metoclopramide tablets are used in adults for two main conditions. First, they treat symptomatic gastroesophageal reflux (GERD — when stomach acid backs up into the esophagus) in people who haven't gotten relief from standard treatments. Second, they ease symptoms of diabetic gastroparesis, a condition where nerve damage from diabetes causes the stomach to empty too slowly.

Treatment is meant to be short-term. For acid reflux, it's used for 4 to 12 weeks. For diabetic gastroparesis, it's generally used for 2 to 8 weeks. It is not recommended for children due to serious safety concerns.
