Dapagliflozin falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group Cod Liver Oil interacts with.

Theoretically, taking cod liver oil with antidiabetes drugs might increase the risk of hypoglycemia.
Some clinical research shows that cod liver oil may lower blood glucose levels in women with gestational diabetes who are already taking antidiabetes drugs when used for at least 12 weeks. However, it does not appear to have any effect on blood glucose when used for shorter durations. Until more is known, use caution.

Here's the gist for Farxiga (dapagliflozin) and cod liver oil. Dapagliflozin lowers blood sugar by making your kidneys pass extra sugar out in your urine. Cod liver oil itself doesn't change how your body breaks down dapagliflozin, but the omega-3s in it may gently nudge your blood sugar lower on their own. Stacked on top of a sugar-lowering medicine, that could add up to more blood sugar lowering than you expect.

Honestly, this is more of a theoretical, watch-it concern. Research only showed a small effect after taking it consistently for several weeks. Still, it's smart to keep an eye out for low blood sugar signs (shakiness, sweating, dizziness) and to ask your pharmacist or doctor before adding it.

What Is Dapagliflozin Used For?

Dapagliflozin is used for several serious conditions. It helps improve blood sugar control in adults and children aged 10 and older with type 2 diabetes (alongside diet and exercise). It also reduces the risk of hospitalization for heart failure in adults with type 2 diabetes who have established cardiovascular disease or multiple cardiovascular risk factors.

Farxiga (dapagliflozin) is additionally approved to reduce the risk of cardiovascular death, hospitalization, and urgent visits due to heart failure in adults with heart failure — and to slow the progression of chronic kidney disease, including reducing the risk of kidney failure and cardiovascular death, in adults with chronic kidney disease at risk of getting worse.
