These two interact in 2 distinct ways. Each one is explained separately below.
Why Are There 2 Interactions?
Dendrobium interacts with whole categories of medication. Bisoprolol falls into 2 of those categories, so it can interact with Dendrobium in 2 different ways. We’ve listed each one below — your overall risk is driven by the most serious of them (Moderate).
SEIZURE THRESHOLD LOWERING DRUGS
1 of 2Why this applies to Bisoprolol
Bisoprolol falls under SEIZURE THRESHOLD LOWERING DRUGS — the group Dendrobium interacts with.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the honest picture: this concern centers on dendrobine, a natural compound in Dendrobium that, in lab and animal work, has shown the potential to trigger seizures. The worry is about combining it with medicines that can lower the seizure threshold. The thing is, bisoprolol isn't really known as a classic seizure-threshold-lowering drug. It's a beta blocker that slows your heart rate and relaxes blood vessels, so its main side effects are things like tiredness, dizziness, a slow pulse, or cold hands, not seizures.
This flag is purely theoretical, based on pharmacology rather than real-world reports, so I wouldn't lose sleep over it. Still, since both products affect the body in their own ways, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor before adding Dendrobium.

ANTIHYPERTENSIVE DRUGS
2 of 2Bisoprolol also falls under ANTIHYPERTENSIVE DRUGS.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the simple version: bisoprolol already lowers your blood pressure by slowing your heart rate and relaxing your blood vessels. Dendrobium contains a compound called dendrobine that, at least in lab and animal studies, may also nudge blood pressure downward. Put the two together and there's a chance their effects could add up, leaving your pressure a little lower than you want.
I'll be honest with you, though, this is a theoretical concern based on how dendrobine behaves in studies, not a proven problem in people. If it ever did matter, you might feel dizzy, lightheaded, unusually tired, or faint when standing up. Don't change anything on your own. Just give your pharmacist or doctor a heads-up before adding dendrobium, especially if your readings already run low.

- ProbableInteraction has not been documented in well-controlled studies, however, the interaction has been demonstrated in some small human studies or in controlled animal studies in conjunction with multiple case reports.
- PossibleInteraction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
- UnlikelyInteraction has been demonstrated in animal or in lab research but has been shown not to occur in humans.

About Dendrobium
What is Dendrobium?
- Dry mouth and thirst
- Supporting digestion
- General tonic/vitality
- Eye and skin health
- Recovery after illness
Dendrobium is a group of orchids long used in traditional Chinese medicine, often to moisten the body and as a general tonic. Human evidence for its modern health claims is very limited, so it should be viewed as a traditional remedy rather than a proven treatment. Talk to your pharmacist or doctor before using it, and avoid it during pregnancy and breastfeeding because safety isn't known.
About Bisoprolol
What Is Bisoprolol Used For?
Brand name: Zebeta
Bisoprolol fumarate tablets are used to manage high blood pressure (hypertension). Lowering blood pressure reduces the strain on the heart and blood vessels, helping prevent serious complications over time.
It can be used on its own or combined with other blood pressure-lowering medicines, such as thiazide diuretics. All supported products — including those labeled as Bisoprolol and Bisoprolol Fumarate — share this indication.

Bisoprolol Is Linked to Lower Levels of One Nutrient
Natural Medicines records Bisoprolol as a medicine that can lower these. This is not an interaction with Dendrobium — it is a separate effect of the medicine, and it is a reason some people are advised to supplement rather than to avoid one:
