Here's the gist of it. BCG isn't a typical medication you swallow, it's a live vaccine. When given in the bladder, it's used to treat or prevent certain early bladder cancers from coming back, and it works by revving up your immune system to attack abnormal cells (it's also used as a tuberculosis vaccine in some countries). The concern with DHEA is that, as a hormone, it may dampen the immune response BCG is counting on, which could make the treatment less effective.

Honestly though, this flag comes from animal studies using high doses, not solid human data, so the real-world risk is uncertain. I wouldn't lose sleep over it, but since BCG only helps if your immune system fully responds, it's worth mentioning your DHEA use to your doctor or pharmacist before treatment.
